What is a Physiotherapist and how can seeing a physiotherapist help me?

A Physiotherapist is a health care professional, with a university degree, who is qualified to assess and evaluate your condition and then carry out treatments accordingly. These consist, of electrotherapy, physical modalities, specific exercise programs and many other specialized approaches.

Physiotherapy techniques can help correct the problems that are causing you pain and limiting your activities of daily living or sporting activities. The sooner you start physiotherapy, the greater your chances of successful recovery & treatment. Delaying physiotherapy treatment can often aggravate the risks of developing a chronic condition.

Many Patients find immediate relief while others find that the correction of their problem takes longer when it has existed for several years. It is important to note that every patient responds differently to physiotherapy treatments.

Anyone with any of the following conditions can benefit from physiotherapy treatment.

  • Pain, swelling and/or discomfort.
  • Stiffness, weakness and/or decreased mobility.
  • Acute or chronic neck, upper back and/or lower back pain.
